Titanic Adventures
So I read today on Yahoo that for $30,000 you can view the Titanic on a crowded submarine. I have always been fascinated by the Titanic, and no not the movie but the actual event.
Its amazing to me how much money people will spend to make a dream/idea come true. Remember the N'Sync singer who wanted to go into space?? I can't believe I do but..he spent all that money/time and still didn't go. It made me wonder what I would be willing to pay to see something really amazing that I have always dreamed about. Its funny how money can turn dreams into either realities or make you really doubt your dream in the first place. Like how many people have wanted to start their own business but haven't because of fear of losing money and not being able to pay the bills at the end of the day? I wish I was more daring, more willing to see the things I dream about happen without having great fears about money. I have always wanted to travel to Ireland and Scotland. Why haven't I? Because I consider myself to not be able to afford such. Which in many cases is logical and makes sense but what if I could afford to go, would I? Maybe I just really need a good vacation.....

Nicknames!
I have always been a huge fan of nicknames. There are certain people who absolutely hate them and for good reasons. When I was five my uncle always sang that awful song.."Shelby coming round' the mountain when she comes..." I know its not exactly a nickname but it was our joke, and that joke really got on my nerves. In fact it still to this day gets on my nerves.
In high school nicknames were hurtful, even downright mean. I had one in high school that a boy started about me and it still hurts to think about it looking back...
In college my best friends somehow ended up calling me "shelabee" which sounds like the man that is in trouble now, Chelabi. So they will e-mail me now and tell me, hey Shelabee you're going to jail, I find it highly amusing.
My boyfriend is a nickname king. He has a nickname everyday for me, nothing gross like lovey dovey nicknames but just silly ones. It inspires me to find something different or cute about people in my daily contact who I can give a nickname to as well. I didn't always like the whole nickname thing but its really grown on me and I have found as long as its not mushy or gooey and is original it is a great great thing.
